Casino, a card game steeped in strategy and subtle tactics, offers a blend of luck and skill that has captivated players for generations. The objective of Casino is to capture cards from a layout on the table, accumulating points based on specific card combinations and total card count. Two to four players can participate, each vying to outmaneuver their opponents in a battle of wits and calculated risks.

The game begins with the dealer dealing four cards face up on the table, followed by four cards face down to each player. The remaining cards form the stock pile. Players take turns playing one card from their hand, aiming to capture cards from the table. A card from the hand can capture a table card of the same rank. For instance, a Queen in the hand can capture a Queen on the table. This direct capture forms the foundation of the game's strategic layer.

Beyond simple matching, Casino introduces the concept of "building." A player can combine a card from their hand with one or more table cards to create a build that matches the rank of another card in their hand. For example, a player holding a 5 and a 2 can combine a 3 on the table with the 2 to create a build of 5, which they can then capture with the 5 in their hand on a subsequent turn. Builds add a layer of complexity, allowing players to manipulate the table layout to their advantage.

The strategic depth of building extends to capturing multiple builds. If a player creates a build of 6 and there are two 6s on the table, they can capture both with a 6 from their hand. Furthermore, players can build upon existing builds, adding another dimension to the strategic interplay. For instance, if a 5-build exists on the table, a player holding a 3 can add a 2 from their hand to the build, transforming it into a 7-build, setting the stage for a future capture.

Another critical aspect of Casino is the "sweep" or "scoop." A player sweeps the table when they capture all the cards on the table at once. A sweep earns a bonus point, adding to the overall score. Strategically timing a sweep can significantly impact the game's outcome.

Specific cards hold special significance in Casino. Aces are worth one point each. The 10 of Diamonds, often called the "Big Casino," is worth two points. The 2 of Spades, known as "Little Casino," is worth one point. Capturing the majority of the spades (seven or more) earns another bonus point. Finally, capturing the most cards overall also awards a point.

The game continues until the stock pile and all players' hands are exhausted. Points are then tallied based on the captured cards and bonus points. The player with the highest score wins the round. Multiple rounds can be played, with the overall winner determined by reaching a predetermined point total, often 21.
