Objective:

To be the first player to get rid of all their cards.

Setup:

* Use a standard deck of 52 cards.

* 3-4 players can play.

* Shuffle the deck and deal 17 cards to each player.

* The remaining cards form the draw pile.

Gameplay:

1. Bidding: Starting with the player to the left of the dealer, each player bids on the number of tricks they think they can take.

2. Landlord: The player with the highest bid becomes the landlord. The landlord's partner is the player to their left.

3. Trump Suit: The landlord chooses a trump suit.

4. Play: The player to the left of the landlord leads with any card. Players must follow suit if possible. If they cannot follow suit, they can play any card, including a trump card.

5. Tricks: The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, unless a trump card is played. In that case, the highest trump card wins.

6. Scoring: The landlord and their partner score points for each trick they take, while the other players lose points.

7. Winning: The first player or team to reach a predetermined score (usually 100) wins the game.

Special Rules:

* Rockets: A pair of 2s is the highest-ranking combination in the game and beats any other card or combination.

* Bombs: A combination of four of a kind or a straight flush is a bomb and beats any other combination except a rocket.

* Pairs: A pair is worth 2 points.

* Three of a Kind: A three of a kind is worth 3 points.

* Straight: A straight is worth 4 points.

* Flush: A flush is worth 5 points.

* Full House: A full house is worth 6 points.

* Four of a Kind: A four of a kind is worth 7 points.

* Straight Flush: A straight flush is worth 8 points.

* Royal Flush: A royal flush is worth 9 points.

Variations:

* Pass the Landlord: If a player does not want to be the landlord, they can pass the bid to the next player.

* Double Landlord: If a player bids double the number of tricks they actually take, they receive double the points.

* Blind Landlord: The landlord is chosen randomly without bidding.
