NEET i: A Comprehensive GuideIntroduction
NEET i, also known as the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for India, is a highly competitive entrance exam for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate medical and dental courses in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. NEET i is a single-window entrance exam for admission to medical and dental colleges across India, except for AIIMS and JIPMER.
Exam Pattern
The NEET i exam is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based) and consists of three sections:
1. Physics: 45 questions (180 marks)
2. Chemistry: 45 questions (180 marks)
3. Biology (Botany and Zoology): 90 questions (360 marks)
The exam duration is 3 hours and 20 minutes. Each correct answer carries 4 marks, while each incorrect answer deducts 1 mark. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for NEET i, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Indian citizen or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
* Minimum age of 17 years on or before December 31st of the admission year
* Passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects
* Minimum marks of 50% for General category, 40% for OBC/SC/ST categories, and 45% for PwD candidates
