TCS, short for Travian: Crown of the Seas, is a browser-based massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game developed by Travian Games. It builds upon the core mechanics of the original Travian, introducing naval warfare and island conquest as central gameplay elements. Players choose one of three tribes: Romans, Gauls, or Teutons, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. The objective is to develop your settlement, build a powerful army and navy, and ultimately conquer the Wonder of the World.

The game begins with a single village situated on a large map divided into regions and populated by thousands of other players. Resources, the lifeblood of your empire, are gathered from resource fields surrounding your village. These resources include wood, clay, iron, and crop. Building production structures within your village allows you to refine these raw materials and generate resources at an increasing rate. Upgrading these structures further enhances their output.

As your village grows, you can construct new buildings to unlock additional units, research technologies, and expand your influence. Barracks train land units, while shipyards produce naval units. Each tribe possesses a distinct roster of units, catering to different playstyles. Romans excel in defense and infrastructure, Gauls favor fast-paced attacks and raiding, while Teutons are known for their powerful offensive infantry.

Researching technologies in the Academy unlocks new units, improves resource production, and enhances your army’s effectiveness. The Blacksmith allows you to upgrade your units' armor and weaponry, providing a crucial advantage in combat. The Rally Point serves as a central hub for coordinating attacks and sending reinforcements to allies.

Expansion is crucial to securing more resources and establishing a strategic presence on the map. Building a Residence or Palace allows you to found new villages in unoccupied territories. These new villages can specialize in specific resource production or train specific unit types, contributing to the overall strength of your empire.

Naval warfare is a defining feature of TCS. Shipyards produce a variety of warships, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Transport ships are essential for moving troops across the seas, while warships engage in combat with enemy fleets. Controlling key islands grants access to valuable resources and strategic advantages.

Diplomacy plays a vital role in TCS. Forming alliances with other players allows for mutual defense, coordinated attacks, and resource sharing. Alliances can conquer entire regions and establish dominance on the server. Treachery and betrayal are also common, adding a layer of political intrigue to the game.

The ultimate goal of TCS is to construct the Wonder of the World. This monumental structure requires vast amounts of resources and coordinated effort from an entire alliance. The first alliance to complete their Wonder of the World wins the server and earns the coveted title of Crown of the Seas.

Building construction, unit training, and troop movements all occur over a period of time, adding a strategic element of planning and anticipation. Players must carefully manage their resources, anticipate enemy attacks, and coordinate with their allies to succeed.
