Fantasy game "Codename Ghost" falls into project death crisis after NetEase withdraws funding

Well-known designer Greg Street revealed on LinkedIn that his team's development of the first fantasy MMORPG "Ghost" is facing a project shutdown crisis. The initial investor was NetEase, which has now withdrawn its investment and abandoned the project. According to me, NetEase has communicated with the studio to find a publisher, but the current market environment is not promising for MMORPGs.

Ghost Crab admitted that he has encouraged team members to explore future opportunities (implying to find another way out): "If a new publisher cannot be found in time, the studio is likely to close, and all members, including management, will be affected. We would like to thank the player community, the players who participated in the test, and the hundreds of colleagues who have given us advice in this industry's cold winter. I hope you will have the opportunity to experience this game in the future, and we are also grateful to Fantastic Pixel The Castle team has made something that they can be proud of, but it's the best team I've ever worked with. src="https://www.haolingxiazai.com/uploadfile/202510/3607ac8d1ecd8b8.jpg" />

Fantastic Pixel Castle is not the only studio to be divested by NetEase. T-Minus Zero, a studio formed by former BioWare and Bethesda veterans, and several other projects, suffered the same fate earlier this year.
