Good news! Steam officially lifts ban on Syria! Regional stores resume operations
Valve recently made important adjustments to the regional restrictions on the Steam platform. According to Turkish media turkiyetoday, Syria has been officially removed from Steam's list of banned/sanctioned countries, marking the first time Syrian players have obtained the right to legally access the Steam platform and purchase games in many years.
Several Syrian players confirmed that they had received an official email from Steam customer service confirmation: "Steam is currently operating normally in Syria. During the checkout process, you will see all available payment options. We cannot explain the pricing of the game because the price is set by the publisher itself."
It should be noted that Steam users can now set the store area to "Syria", but this function is only available to users who actually live in the country and use local payment methods (with Syrian billing address verification required).
