"Pokemon Legend Z-A" has different versions: NS1 supports paid upgrade

"Legend of Pokémon Z-A" will be the first Pokémon orthodox sequel to be launched on Switch 2. It will be released on October 16, and will be launched simultaneously with dual versions of Switch and Switch 2. Foreign media GameRant recently conducted a detailed analysis of the differences between the two versions.

The Switch2 version has ushered in a significant improvement in image quality, supporting higher resolution and smooth 60-frame operation, completely saying goodbye to the "fuzzy + stuttering" experience of "Pokemon Zhu/Purple" on the Switch. However, this optimization also makes the Switch 2 version priced at $10 more than the Switch version.

Previously, "Legend of Pokémon Arceus" could still maintain 30 frames of operation on the Switch, while "Zhu/Zi" has achieved stable performance of 60 frames and higher Pokémon refresh rate with the support of Switch2 performance patches, proving that the new hardware can effectively solve the long-standing technical shortcomings of the series. But for players with low picture quality requirements, the Switch version's price of $59.99 is obviously more cost-effective.

Note that unlike "Zhu/Zi" which splits the legendary Pokémon through dual versions, "Z-A" is a single version of the game, the Switch and Switch2 versions are completely consistent in the plot and gameplay, and there are only performance differences. This means that Switch players can pay to unlock the image quality after upgrading the console in the future; and if Switch2 users do not pursue the ultimate performance for the time being, they can also purchase the Switch version first to reduce trial and error costs.
