At the same time, the news also revealed that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will simultaneously or later launch "Next Generation Upgrade Patch" to improve the graphics and performance of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

In fact, the rumors about the native PS5 version of "Red Dead Redemption 2" have been around for a long time. As early as October last year, a Rockstar employee mentioned "Red Dead Redemption PS5/Switch" in his personal LinkedIn profile. At that time, the outside world generally speculated that this might be a remake of the first generation of "Red Dead Redemption". However, since the ported version is released for the PS4 platform, and the information clearly mentions "PS5", many players began to speculate that this is actually referring to "Red Dead Redemption 2".

Earlier, in September 2023, an internal document from Microsoft also indirectly confirmed that "Red Dead Redemption 2" does have development plans for native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. However, the document also mentioned that the project may have been cancelled.
