  The latest news from Yonhap News Agency shows that South Korea has generally seen a sharp rise in vegetable prices due to the continuous heavy rains and high temperatures recently. Data from the Korean Agricultural and Aquatic Food Circulation Commune showed that the price of cabbage rose by 9.3% year-on-year, and the average retail price of a single piece reached 7,062 won (about RMB 36). It was nicknamed "golden vegetables" by Korean netizens because of its soaring value; the price of cabbage rose by 3.3% year-on-year, and the price of a single piece was 4,526 won (about RMB 23); the prices of tomatoes and white peaches rose by 11.1% and 26.3% year-on-year respectively.

At the same time, the South Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor issued an announcement, determining that the minimum hourly wage in 2026 is 10,320 won (approximately RMB 53.51), an increase of 2.9% from this year. The increase is not only higher than 1.7% this year, but also more than 1.5% in 2021. Calculated based on 209 hours of working hours per month (including 40 hours of working hours per week and 8 hours of paid leave conversion), the minimum monthly salary will reach 2.15688 million won (approximately RMB 11,215), and this standard will be applicable to the entire industry.

  It is disclosed that the monthly income of the lower-level workers in Seoul is about 9,500 yuan, of which rigid expenditure accounts for more than 80%, and the monthly balance is less than 800 yuan; while the Korean middle class earns 25,000 yuan per month, the actual quality of life may be lower than that of the white-collar group with a monthly salary of 20,000 yuan in first-tier cities in China.
