Niu Niu is so pitiful! Animal protection organizations require "World of Carriage" to remove the bull's nose ring
Recently, PETA, a well-known animal protection organization, publicly asked Nintendo to remove the nose ring of the cow's character in Mario Kart: World, believing that this design beautifies animal abuse and is inconsistent with the overall style of the game's relaxed and pleasant style.
PETA pointed out in an open letter to Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa: "This wonderful cow's cute smile conquered players around the world, but the cow in reality is tortured by the nose ring and cannot be laughed out at all."
PETA further emphasized that retaining such details in a family game may weaken people's sympathy for cows, especially after the cow character becomes a popular image in Mario Kart: World, it is easy to mislead players' perception of animal abuse.
The open letter describes in detail the cruel use of nose rings in industrial farming, pointing out that brass ring pierces the nasal septum of the cows will cause long-term pain and discomfort, and is used to drag livestock until death or artificially separate cows and calfs. PETA believes that modifying the design can not only convey positive energy, but also more in line with the warm tone of the game, achieving the effect of killing two birds with one stone.
In addition to the open letter, PETA also initiated a joint sign through its youth branch Peta2, calling on players to jointly request Nintendo to modify the design.
