Comprehensive innovation in the construction model! "Fallout 76" updates the camp system on September 2

Aug 23 2025

Bethesda announced that Fallout 76 will launch a major camp system update for all players on September 2. Since its release in 2018, the development team has continued to inject new features, new content and experience optimization into the game through updates, and is committed to keeping the game fresh.

The Camp System (CAMP) is the iconic feature of Fallout 76, allowing players to use their creativity to build various bases. Players can unlock this feature as soon as they leave Shelter No. 76 and build it freely in the eradicated world after the nuclear explosion. Players can continuously expand their buildable structural options through store purchases, event mission acquisition, or environmental exploration and harvesting.

According to the latest developer preview video, creative director Jon Rush showed the updated core changes: the fully optimized construction menu will adopt a more intuitive classification navigation system, and subcategories such as candles and lamps are subdivided under the main categories such as lamps, decorations, and storage, which will significantly improve the efficiency of item search and construction speed.

The most breakthrough change in this update is the removal of item placement restrictions. At present, there are restrictions on the construction of specific items in the floating camp in the game, which makes it difficult to build high-altitude bases. After the update, the ban will be fully lifted, allowing players to switch, adsorb, and cross-place items freely, truly realizing unrestrained creative construction.
