"League of Legends" derivative fighting game "2XKO" has only 10 heroes first released

Mar 30 2025

The "League of Legends" derivative fighting game "2XKO" developed by Riot Games recently announced the latest development progress. Game Director Shaun Rivera confirmed that the fighting game will only contain 10 heroes when it starts, rather than all 170 characters in League of Legends. The confirmed heroes include Ahri, Ike, Yasuo, Drayus, Oloy, Bron, Jinx and three other new characters.

"We know that this number is indeed small," Shaun Rivera explained, "but we would rather launch the game as soon as possible, rather than wait until the number of characters increases." He promised that the game will continue to be updated after the release of the game and continue to launch new heroes. Executive producer Tom Cannon added that the game will not be officially launched when it reaches its best.

Compared with other fighting games, the number of starting characters in "2XKO" is significantly smaller. "Street Fighter 6" has 18 characters in the first release, while "Dragon Ball Fighter Z" has 24. Therefore, the development team needs to speed up the launch of new characters to maintain long-term interest from players. The game will adopt a service-oriented operation model, similar to the update rhythm of "League of Legends".
