Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit 2025 will be held in Hawaii from September 23 to 25, and the Snapdragon X-series PC chip and Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be released. According to the revelations from the digital blogger Digital Chat Station, the first model of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be launched early at the end of September, and at the same time, the Dimensity 9500 will also be unveiled.
It is revealed that the first batch of models equipped with new chips include Xiaomi, Honor, OPPO, vivo, iQOO, OnePlus, True Me and REDMI, and their iterative models will be released one after another from September to October.
According to customary practice, the Xiaomi 16 series will become the world's first flagship phone equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, and is scheduled to be released at the end of September, which is earlier than expected.
From the performance point of view, the CPU main frequency of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to be 4.4GHz, which is an improvement compared to the 4.32GHz of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The chip adopts a new second-generation self-developed CPU architecture, with GPU independent cache increased from 12MB to 16MB, and the overall performance increased by about 30%. In addition, the NPU computing power reached 100TOPS, and the AI performance was significantly enhanced.
It is worth mentioning that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is based on TSMC's third-generation 3nm process (N3P), and its performance is improved by about 4% under the same power consumption; while at the same main frequency, its power consumption is reduced by 9% and its transistor density is increased by 4%.
