Being ridiculed as "death game"! "Palu" responds: Living well

Jul 01 2025

Although popularity is still rising, the open world survival game "Palworld" has been frequently ridiculed by some players as a "dead game". But Bucky, the game's community manager and designer, recently responded strongly on social platforms: "We are living well!"

According to SteamDB data, as of now, the highest number of online players in the past 24 hours has reached 122,512, and the current number of online users is stable at around 70,000, ranking ninth among the most popular games in Steam.

Although it has dropped sharply compared to the 2.1 million simultaneous online peak set by the previous 2.1 million, Bucky emphasized: "This is not a 'dead game' at all."

"I bet someone will say it's 'cold' for the 100th time next week, but we can return to the top ten of Steam in every major update. Thank you, players!"

On June 25, "Phantom Beast Palu" released a coordinated update with "Terraria", which became one of the main driving forces for players' return this time. This is not the first time that an update has boosted popularity. The "Feybreak update" earlier this year also sparked a craze for players to return.

It is worth mentioning that this game is not a traditional "multiplayer online service game", but it has been among the top ten in Steam many times. The only one with it is "Stardew Valley" - and it is famous for its frequent updates.

Since the popularity, "Porcine Beast" has become popular quickly because of its "Pokemon + Gun" setting, and has also been questioned and ridiculed by some players. As the popularity stabilized, some voices began to question their subsequent operations, and even repeatedly posted "cold" comments on online platforms. But judging from the data, this kind of remarks is obviously deviating from the facts.
