Japanese auction platform suddenly revealed multiple auction items "Switch2 prototype components"

May 22 2025

It is still half a month since the Nintendo Switch 2 was released on June 5, but its prototype parts were exposed in an unexpected way. A Japanese auction platform recently revealed several auction items marked "Switch 2 Development Components", and some bids have reached 10,000 yen (about 500 yuan).

The auction list contains a number of key hardware, including factory test motherboard V1A, which is highly similar to the motherboard exposed by China's reverse engineering in the past two months. The board is engraved with the code "BEE-CPU-01" (BEE is the internal code of the Switch 2 platform); in addition, there are gripless Switch 2 Pro handle prototypes and Joy-Con 2 shells and other accessories.

If these parts are true, they may become the first public auction of Switch 2 development machine components in Japan. Nintendo has not commented on the matter yet.
