"Avatar: Pandora Border" announced that the annual major update will be launched soon!
Ubisoft announced that it will launch a large annual update for "Avatar: Pandora Border", which will be released in December 2023, responding to players' long-standing core demands. This IP adaptation, released in low-key fashion in big-pictures such as "Bad Gate 3" and "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom", once achieved a sales record of 2 million players in the first week, but the first-person perspective and formulaic open world design once caused controversy about "Skin-changing Far Cry".
According to developer Massive Entertainment, the update scheduled to be launched on December 5 (the second anniversary of the game's release) will include two core contents: the second week mode allows players to inherit all equipment and skills to start a new journey, and add skill trees, advanced equipment and strengthen enemies; the third person mode completely changes the perspective of the game and provides an immersive experience for movie fans. The update coincides with the release of the third movie in the series, "Avatar 3: Fire and Ash", on December 19, forming a cross-media linkage effect.
The game has previously expanded the plot through two DLCs in 2024, "The Skybreaker" and "The Peaks" and optimized the performance of 40-frame balance mode. Analysts pointed out that this perspective change may attract potential players who are deterred by first-person stun, especially in line with the movie viewing boom at the end of the year-end holiday season, which is expected to drive a new round of game sales growth.
