91.7% support to add! "Borderlands 4" may add a view slider to the console

According to the latest statement by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, Borderlands 4 is expected to add a Field of View (FOV) slider function to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S console versions. But Pitchford also pointed out that there may be factors that affect "fairness" in development, so the feature has not been finalized.

Despite the performance problems of the Steam version, this new classic shooting plunder game still received an 85-point media score on the OpenCritic website. But host players soon discovered that FOV adjustment function was missing compared to the PC version, and then expressed strong demands on social media, and these feedbacks were directly conveyed to Gearbox management.

The relevant votes initiated by Pitchford on the X platform showed that 91.7% of the more than 19,000 participants supported the addition of this feature, and only 8.3% said it didn't matter. However, he revealed in his tweet: "The FOV settings in some development concepts may affect fairness. Although it cannot be described in detail at present, we have attached great importance to this need." This statement involving "fairness" may imply the multiplayer model related mechanism, but the current game roadmap does not mention relevant content, and the existing FOV functions of the PC version have not aroused doubts about fairness.
