Science fiction horror "Lingyin" RPG "//signal." is available on Steam in April

　　The official certified 2-creation cult RPG "//signal." of the Japanese cyberpunk psychological horror TV animation "Serial experiments lain" has been produced for many years. The development team announced that the game will be launched on Steam and the independent game platform itch.io on April 30, with a download version priced at 1,000 yen.

　　"Reinyin" is an animation that premiered in Japan in 1998. It was produced by TRIANGLE STAFF and was created by NBC Global Entertainment producer Kosuke Ueda. This experimental animation features 14-year-old girl "Reini Iwakura", telling the story of her receiving emails sent by the deceased after her classmates committed suicide, and launching an investigation alone against the background of the gradually blurring of the boundaries between reality and the Internet.

　　"Lingyin" uses a surreal original visual style and explores the common in-depth themes of science fiction works such as "Ghost in the Shell" and "Akira" through a unique narrative way. Combined with strong psychological horror elements, it has become a classic work praised by cyberpunk enthusiasts.

　　"Lingyin" was adapted into a PlayStation game in the same year that the animation was premiered. The official also launched the AI chat service "AI lain" on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the animation in 2023, and launched the permanent scene "Lingyin's Room" in "VRChat" on January 25 this year.

　　The fan team announced in 2019 based on the secondary creation specification of "lainTTL" of "Lingyin". Due to insufficient developers, the project was shelved for a while and announced the restart of development in January this year. Now it is also announced that it will be officially launched on April 30.

　　"//signal." allows players to communicate with the original characters, read emails through the custom computer "NAVI", collect information and prompts from past logs, rebuild interpersonal bonds in the process, and discover a new side of Iwakura Reinin, and gradually reveal the truth about "the disappearance of bonds".

　　"//signal." is suitable for PC platforms (Steam, itch.io). Platforms such as Amazon in Japan will also release "CD-R" physical game films. The price of the digital download version is 1,000 yen, and the price of the limited packaging version is 1,700 yen, and it is expected to be officially released on April 30.
