There is no standard charger for Surface products! Microsoft: Everything is for environmental protection

　　Microsoft's latest 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop are no longer equipped with a power adapter in the European market, and only comes with a USB-C data cable.

For Surface Laptop users, they need at least a 45W USB-C adapter, but not everyone has a suitable adapter at home. If not, they can only buy it for a fee.

　　In the European market, the price of Microsoft 45W charger is 59 euros (about 480 yuan), while the price of the 65W version is as high as 89 euros (about 724 yuan).

　This policy not only applies to new products, but also covers the old 13-inch Surface Pro on Microsoft's German official website.

　　Microsoft officially claims that this move is in response to the EU's initiative to reduce electronic waste and avoid the extra charger included in each box.

Some analysts believe that Microsoft's move is to reduce its own manufacturing costs and at the same time push consumers to purchase paid accessories, thereby increasing profits.

In the Chinese market, Microsoft's official website shows that the new 12-inch Surface Pro is also "not including power", but it can be compatible with any 27W or above USB-C adapter. The price of Microsoft 45W USB-C charger in China is 488 yuan.
