Five Lego games may usher in the Switch2 upgrade! Comic Exhibition Promotion Caused Speculation
Promotional materials appearing at the Zurich Pop Culture Exhibition recently showed that five popular LEGO games may receive Switch2 upgrades. If the news is true, this batch of works that span the five-year release cycle will cover multiple classic titles from the Switch's first LEGO game to its masterpieces in recent years.
The Zurich Pop Culture Exhibition, which opened on September 27, is an annual event focusing on games, animation, comics and popular culture. According to images leaked at the exhibition site, promotional banners that categorize five released Switch LEGO games as Switch2 versions appeared in the exhibition area, involving works:
"Lego City: Undercover" (2017)
"Lego DC Super Villain" (2018)
"Lego Harry Potter Collection" (2018)
"Lego Jurassic World" (2019)
"Lego Star Wars: Legend of Skywalker" (2022)
"Lego Star Wars: Legend of Skywalker" (2022)
"Lego Star Wars: The Legend of Skywalker" (2022)
The current works on the list have not been officially confirmed to be upgraded. If the banner information is correct, it may indicate that the relevant version will be officially announced soon. It is not clear whether these upgrades will be in a free or paid form - Nintendo itself has launched paid upgrades to Switch2 for more than six Switch games, and third-party publishers are more cautious about this, with only a few works such as Civilization 7 and Grand Bazaar following up.
The Switch2 version of Lego game may improve core technical indicators such as resolution and frame rate. Among them, the upgrade prospects of "Lego City: Undercover" have attracted particular attention. Although this game is the first LEGO game on Switch, its operating performance (especially the cooperation mode) has always been unsatisfactory, and the improvement space is significant with the support of Switch2's stronger performance.
The latest Lego game "Lego Traveler" that landed on Nintendo consoles on September 15 this month did not appear on this list. The game was developed by Light Brick Studio (non-TT Games), focusing on cooperative puzzle-solving platform gameplay, and has launched Switch and Switch2 versions simultaneously. It is worth noting that players who purchase the standard Switch version can unlock image quality enhancements for free when Switch2 is running.
