32G memory becomes mainstream? CPU-Z discloses hardware distribution map at the beginning of 2025
The well-known hardware detection and scoring software CPU-Z recently released hardware market research data at the beginning of 2025. AMD achieved market growth in both processor and graphics cards, and 32GB memory configuration exceeded 16GB for the first time and became the mainstream standard.
Data shows that from 2021 to April 2025, the proportion of AMD processor users soared by 16.6%, to 43.7%; and due to the chip overheating incident and the poor performance of the Core Ultra 200 series, Intel's market share fell by 10 percentage points to 56.3%, and the gap between the two giants has narrowed to less than 10%.
In terms of core quantity distribution, the 8-core processor accounts for 24.7% of the proportion exceeding 22.5% of the 6-core products, becoming the most popular configuration. The flagship model Ryzen 7 9800X3D topped the top hot processor list, and the classic Ryzen 5 5600X still ranked second.
In terms of memory capacity, the 32GB configuration has continued to rise since 2024, and has now surpassed 16GB and has become the mainstream choice. From the perspective of memory generation, DDR4 still accounts for 55.3% of the market share, but DDR5 is becoming popular at an astonishing rate, with a growth rate of 51.7% in April, and the overall market accounted for 28.6%.
The graphics card market structure has undergone major changes. NVIDIA's market share has declined by 6.4% due to insufficient supply of RTX 50 series, while AMD's market share has soared by 16.6% thanks to the price adjustment of the RX 7000 series and the hot sales of the new RX 9000 series in March. It is worth noting that the market share of AMD graphics cards has steadily climbed to 31.5% from 21.2% in 2021, breaking through the 30% mark for the first time.
The specific model list shows a dramatic situation: RTX 3060 won the championship with 5.8%, and RTX 4060 followed with a slight gap of 0.3%. The GTX 1650, which has been on the market for many years, still ranks third with 2.7%. Among the new generation of graphics cards, only RTX 5080 ranked eighth with 2.2%, showing a conservative trend of users' willingness to upgrade.
