Foreign media question XBOX's next-generation hardware product line: There are many problems to be solved
Today, Xbox officially announced the development of next-generation consoles and will cooperate with AMD to reach a "strategic, multi-year agreement". Foreign media Pushsquare published a post today, saying that the new Xbox console needs Microsoft, Sony and even the industry to answer and deal with multiple urgent issues.
It is reported that in the announcement, the next-generation Xbox will invest in "the next-generation hardware product line covering game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers, cloud computing and accessories", and will not force the Xbox, a single game store, and are already working closely with the Windows team - all of which imply that Xbox's next-generation console is actually very close to a computer.
But there will be many questions: the contemporary console model is to make money by subsidizing and maintaining players' platform loyalty through subsidies and subscribing to services and software under the premise of losing money in hardware sales. So can Xbox's new consoles do this? Can it have a hardware subsidy cost that rivals Sony? Will it lead to another increase in XGP price?
For Sony, more and more first-party games are no longer exclusive, especially after logging in to Steam, does it mean that we can directly play Sony's exclusive games through the Steam store in the future on the new Xbox console? Just like the ROG Xbox handheld console?
For the gaming industry, as the boundaries between Xbox consoles and PCs become increasingly blurred, will manufacturers neglect to optimize the Xbox version of the game?
We will only know these problems after the next generation arrives.
