Operations stagnation leads to important IP waste! "Forza" was sharply criticized by foreign media
From July 10, 2025, the official Twitter account of Forza has stopped being updated and no announcements have been made about the game's subsequent support or content plans. Previously, Turn 10 Studio launched a 20th anniversary update in May, bringing players the return of the classic track "Fujimi Kaido".
However, in early July, Microsoft announced a large-scale layoff, involving 9,000 employees, and Turn 10 Studios was also seriously affected. According to internal reports, more than 70 employees of the studio were laid off, accounting for the vast majority of the team, and only a few people were retained to maintain basic operations of the game.
Jez Corden, a well-known industry insider and editor-in-chief of Windows Central, commented on this: "Forza is one of Microsoft's core IPs, and this management decision is a 'disaster-level' mistake."
More worryingly, former Turn 10 employee Fred Russell revealed that the core development team has been dissolved, and the remaining personnel only assisted Playground Games in promoting the development of the "Forza: Horizon" series, and the future development of the main series has stagnated. This change makes the series' long-term support plan doubtful, and the player community is generally pessimistic about the IP prospects.
