AMD Royal Three-1! MSI announces that it will not produce this generation of 9000 series graphics cards
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 have been launched for some time, and the overall sales performance is good. However, careful players may find that MSI has not launched any related products this time. After inquiry, foreign media Tom's Hardware confirmed that MSI will not produce this generation of AMD GPU graphics cards, which means that the entire Radeon RX 9000 series will not have the injection of "Dragon Soul".
Tom's Hardware noticed that MSI had no news about the launch of the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards, so he called to inquire. MSI's representative replied: "According to your question, MSI will not produce this generation of AMD GPU graphics card products."
From MSI's answer, "this generation" means that not only the Radeon RX 9070 series, but the next RX 9060 series, and even the possible RX 9050 series will not have corresponding products. The latest AMD graphics card products on MSI's official website are only in the Radeon 7000 series.
MSI did not explain the reason for giving up the RX 9000 series graphics card, but foreign media speculated that it may be related to the company's original sales volume. For example, in the Steam hardware rankings, NVIDIA accounts for more than 80% of the market share of independent graphics cards, and AMD appears relatively niche, which leads MSI to give up if the sales cost is too high.
However, MSI may not have expected an incredible buying boom in the graphics card market this year, and new products from NVIDIA and AMD are both sold out of stock. Therefore, it is not ruled out that MSI will re-examine market demand and quickly turn to and re-join the market.
In short, MSI's decision has made many AMD fans feel regretful, but whether there will be a turning point in the future depends on the market's reaction and MSI's strategic adjustments. Let's wait and see!
