Sony PS5 push update: added power saving function to realize multi-device handle switching

Sony today pushed the PS5 system update to global users and added the "power saving mode" function. At the same time, the DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers will also support multi-device pairing, allowing up to four devices to be connected.

　　When switching between different devices, the user only needs to press the PS key first, and then press the preset function key of the corresponding device to complete the switching operation. After the update, the user can set the corresponding function keys for different devices by themselves. It should be noted that when pairing devices, the handle cannot connect to the host via a USB cable.

This update highlights Sony's long-standing environmental protection concept. As part of Sony Group’s “Zero Load Road” environmental protection plan, Sony Interactive Entertainment Co., Ltd. (SIE) continues to promote the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals with the help of products and services, with the goal of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

After the update, PS5 users can find the newly added "Power Saving Mode" option in the "Settings" menu. When this mode is enabled, PS5 games that support this feature will automatically adjust performance to reduce the console's power consumption.

　　If the user does not enable this function, or the game he plays does not support this feature for the time being, the host performance and energy consumption will remain in its original state. It should be noted that in power saving mode, VR games cannot run, and some game functions may also be restricted.

　　According to official news, games including "Death Stranding 2", "Devil's Souls" and "Sheep Hoof Mountain Souls" will be the first to add support for power-saving mode in subsequent version updates, and more games will be gradually followed. Users can adjust power saving options in system settings to get a more efficient user experience.
