Recently, Sony revealed an important piece of information. The company has quietly made adjustments and updates on the backend to ensure that subsequent updates to the PlayStation system can be faster. Entering the PS5 era, players have already witnessed many improvements, and frequent updates, covering feature updates and system software updates, will most likely become a prominent feature of the PS6 era.

Stephen Totilo of the well-known game information platform GameFile published an interesting interview report, presenting the results of his in-depth dialogue with the Sony SIE team. In this exchange, Sony not only talked about the PS5 user interface, especially focusing on the optimization and improvement of the "Welcome Center", but also revealed the important development of back-end adjustments.

Compared with previous generations of consoles, PS5 has all its advantages. On the one hand, it benefits from more frequent updates, allowing it to keep up with player needs and the pace of the times; on the other hand, Sony's fine changes in the backend are also indispensable, and some small functional updates can take effect directly on the console. Players do not need to manually download the update package, which greatly improves the convenience of use.

A recent example is the launch of the PlayStation 30th Anniversary splash screen and related user interface functions. Players can easily enjoy the changes without having to worry about downloading new firmware patches during the whole process, and the experience is simple and full.

In addition , Sony has publicly promised that it will continue to polish the PlayStation user interface based on player feedback. However, in the face of repeated calls from players to restore dynamic themes, Sony has yet to give a clear response.

In terms of similarity to the much-loved “Dynamic Theme” feature in the PS4 user interface, the background screen of the PS5 “Welcome Center” is the closest, but players are still looking forward to Sony’s further response to the call. Let the classic functions return.
