"GTA6" is actually only delayed by half a year? Official revealed that it was originally scheduled to be released at the end of 2025
Rockstar Games announced that the release date of "Grand Theft Auto 6" (GTA6) will be postponed from the original fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. Although players were disappointed by this, the second trailer and official website information released later still allowed many fans to temporarily quench their thirst. Recently, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar's parent company Take-Two, said in an interview that the game has actually been postponed for less than 6 months.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed in an interview with CNBC that the actual delay time of "GTA6" is less than 6 months, and the overall delay is very limited. Considering the original plan to be released in fall 2025, it means that the game was originally expected to be launched at the end of November or December 2025.
Zelnick also said that Rockstar is fully committed to developing "the greatest work in the history of the entertainment industry", but at the same time confessed that he does not play games and just provides advice from the side. This remark has sparked heated discussion among netizens, and many people pointed out that many executives of listed game companies are essentially businessmen, and are more concerned about business returns than the fun of games.
Some netizens also joked: "At least he is honest", "As long as he does not interfere in development, he will be a competent CEO", "If you don't play games, you will make suggestions? I hope Rockstar developers can listen selectively."
