PC Gamer reporters went to Warsaw to visit developer Rebel Wolves and interviewed many core developers, including founder Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. Tomaszkiewicz is best known as the director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Leaving CD Projekt Before Red (CDPR), Tomaszkiewicz also served as co-director of "Cyberpunk 2077". The obvious question is why an accomplished director would choose to leave the company he had helped achieve so much success.

I started Rebel Wolves because I felt I wanted to create something unique with my friends," said Tomaszkiewicz. "Of course, we love RPGs very much and what we've done in the past. [But] I think the rules of these RPGs can be expanded and evolved. We have some crazy ideas. We know that if we want to implement them, we have to You need to open your own studio because it's hard to convince any big company - especially one that doesn't have its own IP - to change and do something new and crazy, actually, because we're trying it. Some brand new solutions ”

“The second point is that we have an environment where we can work together with everyone, which is not as difficult as in a large company. I feel that a small team can accomplish more things, because within the team Communication is smoother and it’s easier to communicate your vision and create something special. ”

Indeed, Rebel Wolves seems to have a deep RPG pedigree, because Konrad's The new studio has gathered many former CD Projekt Red's developers include game design director Daniel Sadowski and creative director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, both of whom have worked on the acclaimed The Witcher series.
