"Injustice 3" development rumors add another truth: the dubbing actor is suspected of leaking
The rumors of "Injustice 3" developed by NetherRealm Studios have recently been supported by new evidence - two core voice actors in the series were exposed to reveal their participation in the project to fans during the comic convention event. Although neither Warner Bros. nor the actor himself officially confirmed it, various signs indicate that the sequel to this fighting game may be officially announced in the near future.
According to multiple reports, George Newborn, who voiced Superman in the predecessor of "Injustice", and Phil Lamar, who played Aquaman and Green Lantern (John Stewart version), mentioned that he was participating in the development of the third work at the fan meeting. Since 2003, Newborn has been making voices to the Superman in animation and games many times, and Lamar has also participated in the "Mortal Kombat" series dubbing.
At present, the relevant statements are only found in the text records of fans' social media, and there is a lack of audio and video evidence. But the hints of "Injustice 3" have long been there: in the 2020 "Mortal Kombat 11" DLC, two clown characters in the trailer talked about "two is not enough, they need a third"; series main designer Ed Boone neither acknowledged nor denied it when asked about the sequel at DC Fan Festival 2020, and only expressed "understanding the players' expectations."
Boen revealed in his 2023 podcast that "Injustice 3" will not be developed after the release of "Mortal Kombat 1", but no specific timetable was given. The recent cryptic post of the data miner of "The Multiverse Battle" also hinted that this game is under development. The first work of the series, "Injustice: God of the World", was released in April 2013. After the sequel was released in 2017, DC fighting game fans have been waiting for the new work for eight years.
