The performance is actually super Snapdragon X Elite! Nvidia's first Arm PC chip run score exposed
The highly-watched NVIDIA's first Arm PC chip was exposed in the Geekbench test database for the first time. Its running score exceeded Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite, which also means that NVIDIA will soon enter the PC market based on the Windows on Arm platform and compete head-on with Qualcomm.
According to the unified information, Nvidia's AI PC chip is code-named "N1X", has a 20-thread CPU, and the main frequency is 2.81GHz. Since Arm-based CPUs usually lack SMT (simultaneous multithreading) like Intel Lion Cove, the processor should be equipped with 20 core Arm CPUs. The guess is probably based on a modified version of the Grace CPU of the previous GB10 super chip.
The GB10 Grace Blackwell super chip equipped with the personal AI supercomputer "Project DIGITS" (DGX Spark) launched by Nvidia previously, the Grace CPU (10 Cortex-X925 + 10 Cortex-A725 cores) was designed by Nvidia and MediaTek, and it also integrates Nvidia's Blackwell GPU.
However, Geekbench's detection information shows that the CPU of "N1X" is based on the Armv8 instruction set, while the 20-core CPU of GB10 is based on the Armv9 instruction set. So does this mean that Nvidia, like Qualcomm, has obtained the Armv8 instruction set authorization to build its own CPU core architecture? However, there was also a Geekbench error before reading the Armv8 instruction set CPU as a record of the Armv9 instruction set.
System information also shows that N1X is equipped with an HP development board (HP 83A3) running a Linux (Ubuntu 24.04.1) system. Meanwhile, the board may be equipped with 128GB of system memory, of which 8GB is reserved for the GPU.
From the test results of "N1X", N1X scored 3096 points and 18837 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. Even in different environments, its performance is far better than Intel Arrow Lake-HX, AMD Ryzen AI MAX (Strix Halo), Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite. Even compared with top AI PC processors such as Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX and AMD Ryzen AI Max+395, its CPU performance is not much inferior. However, there is still a certain gap compared to Apple's M4 MAX.
