Wait for the victory of the party? Nvidia RTX 50 graphics card starts to drop in price
According to foreign media wccftech, the price of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards is gradually returning to the official suggested retail price (MSRP). Following the price cuts of the RTX 5090 in Japan and elsewhere, the prices of high-end models such as the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti have also been significantly lowered.
The report said that the price of the GeForce RTX 5080 in Japan has dropped to 169,980 yen (about 1,163 US dollars), the lowest price since its release. The official release price of the graphics card is 198,800 yen (about $1,362), but it once rose to more than 210,000 yen (about $1,439). The price cut this time is close to 20%, about 15% lower than the official suggested retail price.
While the RTX 5080's suggested retail price in North America is $999, the price in the Japanese market is usually higher due to additional costs such as transportation and customs clearance. Currently, this price is mainly seen in specific promotions, such as the Gainward GeForce RTX 5080 Phoenix model sold on the TSUKUMO website.
In addition, the price of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti has also dropped. On Amazon, the RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Pro-S model was briefly below the MSRP, priced at 139,980 yen, 6% lower than the MSRP of 148,800 yen. The official price of this graphics card is $749, but it usually costs more than $1,000 in the Japanese market. This price cut marks the first non-public RTX 5070 Ti price below $1,000 for the first time.
As the supply situation improves, analysts expect that the prices of the RTX 50 series graphics cards will continue to fall and may approach the official suggested retail price in the next few weeks. Currently, the entry-level graphics card GeForce RTX 5060 is available at the recommended retail price, and the RTX 5070 is also approaching $600.
