"Soul of Sheep Hoof Mountain" studio talks about new work: Not necessarily going to fight ghost series
The PS5 limited-time exclusive action-adventure open-world game "Ghost of Yōtei" produced by Sucker Punch Productions and released by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The story is set in 1603, three hundred years after "The Soul of Tsushima", and the stage is set in Hokkaido. Players will play the role of the heroine "Du" in the game. 16 years ago, she experienced the "Sheep Hoof Six" killing and was nailed to the ginkgo tree to survive. Du swore revenge on Yangti Mountain with all his hatred.
According to GameSpot, in an interview recently, the co-founder of Sucker Punch Productions talked about the choice of the next work, but he said that he could not guarantee it now, and it may not continue the "War Ghost" series of "Soul of Tsushima" and "Soul of Sheep Hoof Mountain".
He said: "The truth is, no matter what we do next, whether to continue the 'war ghost' or go back to "The Adventure of the Cunning Fox", the real limitation is that we cherish the time of concentration and iteration. This means that we can only do one thing at a time. If we are good at dealing with four projects at the same time, we could have remake one, make a new work, and do some projects with high fans, and that would have been very popular."
"But the reality is that we can only do one. So, this has to be the best idea in your mind, right? This is very important. It's not that we don't have fifteen good ideas, but you can only choose one. More importantly, you can choose one about every five years. So this choice is really important. I think it's like you have to re-choose a university and major every five years... that's a very important decision, and you have to consider it very carefully."
The "Adventure of the Fox" series is one of Sucker Punch Productions' representative works. The first generation had already landed on PS2 as early as 2002. After launching several "Adventure of the Fox", Sucker Punch Productions produced the "Infamous" series, and then "The Soul of Tsushima".
