"Vampire Survivor" updated PS version is missing cross-platform archive due to restrictions
This month, Vampire Survivors will launch a free update to bring cross-platform archive functionality to players on PC and Xbox platforms, but PlayStation players cannot enjoy this convenience. Game development team Poncle recently announced on official social media that due to sudden legal compliance issues, the PS4/PS5 version will not be able to participate in the update for the time being.
Poncle explained in a statement: "We regret to announce that the cross-platform archive function originally planned to be launched in the April update will not be able to cover the PlayStation platform. Last month, we promised that this update will enable archive interoperability across the entire platform (including PS4/PS5, PC, Xbox, Android, and iOS), but in the final stage, we found that there was an unexpected legal restriction on the PlayStation platform. The platform requires us to disclose specific information from our partners, which we cannot meet at present."
Although Poncle said that the cross-archive function of the PS version is not completely impossible to achieve, the hope of implementation in the short term is "quite slim." However, the team is actively negotiating with Sony to find a solution.
It is understood that this update will be first launched on PC, Xbox, Android and iOS platforms, while the Nintendo Switch version needs to be delayed. As for the Apple Arcade version, the development team stated that it will try to synchronize updates without violating the privacy agreement.
