Is it revealed that gaming giant EA will be "private"? Saudi Arabia and Trump's son-in-law participate in acquisition
According to the latest news from the Wall Street Journal, Electronic Arts (EA) is currently in deep negotiations on a transaction involving huge funds, with a transaction valuation that may reach $50 billion, which may make EA a private company again. Potential investors include Silver Lake Capital and Saudi Arabia's public investment funds.
According to the New York Times, the Affinity Partners private equity institution founded by US President Jared Kushner is joining forces with several large investors, including Saudi sovereign wealth fund and Silver Lake Capital, to discuss the possibility of acquiring EA and privatizing it.
The New York Times also quoted anonymous people as saying that since the negotiations involve trade secrets, the overall valuation of EA is currently about US$50 billion.
If this transaction is finally reached, it will not only become one of the largest mergers and acquisitions in the world since 2025, but also expected to exceed the privatization transaction of US energy company TXU in 2007, breaking the historical record of leveraged acquisitions.
