Shumao Editorial "The Blade of the Alien X Ultimate Edition": It is significantly improved and the picture is even better!

Recently, the technical evaluation media, Digital Mao Club, conducted a detailed comparison and analysis of the differences and improvements between "Xenoblade X: Definitive Edition" and the original version.

Shumao Society described "Blade of the Alien X: Ultimate Edition" as "the end of the era from Wii U to Switch." Although porting seems to be a "quite simple task" on the surface, as the Switch version is similar to the original game content, it's far from that.

In terms of resolution, the maximum resolution of the Wii U version is 720p, while the Switch version adopts dynamic resolution, which can reach native 1080p. The performance of dynamic blur, long-term details and shadow effects in the game is at least comparable to the original version, and even improved. Especially in the new Los Angeles scene, the Switch version has more details than the Wii U version.

In addition, the improvement of the role model cannot be ignored. Compared with some unpleasant facial features in the Wii U version, the Switch version's character faces are more natural, with obvious optimizations in eye shape, facial structure and hairstyle. The user interface has also been significantly improved, becoming clearer and easier to understand.

However, there are some shortcomings. Especially when exploring the city, there will still be some object pop-up windows, and the texture filtering effect will also appear unsatisfactory. The cutscenes in the new ported version are a little pale than the original, but this is not a big problem. Judging from the frame rate performance, both versions remained at 30fps, and occasionally there was a slight frame rate drop.

In summary, Shumao Society believes that "Blade of the Alien: Ultimate Edition" has been improved compared to the original version of Wii U in all aspects, and can definitely be called the "Ultimate Edition". If you haven't experienced Alien Blade X on the Wii U, this improved version is worth a try.
