Pre-order the party to become a serious injustice? "Silent Hill F" free iron box was sold at a high price by scalpers
Although pre-orders have been completed in advance, some American players in "Silent Hill F" have not been able to obtain the limited iron box that should have been included. They are currently collectively complaining to retailer GameStop and accusing some of them of taking the opportunity to speculate.
According to the original arrangement, players who pre-order physical versions through Amazon in the UK or GameStop in the US can get an exclusive iron box for free. However, many players found that when they went to the store to collect the iron boxes, they were seriously insufficient. A user posted on the forum: "I pre-ordered on GameStop a few months ago. After the store opened, I arrived one hour later, but was told that the only four iron boxes had been sent. I contacted all stores within 50 miles of surrounding areas, and none of them received iron boxes."
"Everyone was fooled," another player responded, "Even if there are stores that have goods, the number of iron boxes is less than 10% of the pre-order volume." Someone added: "I arrived at the store when I opened the door, but the store only had one iron box, and I ranked second. It is said that replenishment may be carried out in the future, but it is ridiculous that gifts are so short. What's even more unreasonable is that online pre-orders must be collected in the store."
More players revealed that GameStop employees privately admitted that each store had very few iron boxes, which was seriously inconsistent with the pre-order quantity, and some stores even "not even assigned an iron box." A user who claims to be a GameStop employee said: "Our store received 9 iron boxes, but there are more than 30 pre-orders."
This is not the first time similar situation. When "Silent Hill 2: Remake" was launched in the UK in October 2024, GAME retailers had the same problem, and players waited for weeks to receive the delayed reissue of iron boxes. However, Amazon is responsible for iron box delivery in the UK, but there is no chaos.
What aroused even more dissatisfaction with players is that the limited iron boxes that should have been collected for free have flowed into second-hand platforms such as eBay, with prices ranging from 30 to 205 US dollars, and some of them are even sold only empty boxes. In a discussion that received a lot of likes, the player criticized: "What is most disappointing is that seeing speculators mark iron boxes at sky-high prices, this greed ruined the experience of other players. Although the "Silent Hill" series has always been priced at a high price, it is disgusting to speculate gifts to sky-high prices."
As all retailers indicate that the gifts are "limited in quantity and will be given away", players face real difficulties in protecting their rights. GameStop customer service clearly stated in the reply email: "Online pre-orders also require you to collect iron boxes at the store. This product is extremely limited, first come first served."
