Implementation soon! The world-renowned mod website download sensitive mods must be verified first

According to foreign media thegamer, with the official entry into force of the UK's Cybersecurity Act, multiple platforms including Wikipedia, XXbox, Spotify and Reddit have successively introduced mechanisms of similar ID card verification. Nexus Mods, a world-renowned mod release website, also announced that it will follow up on the policy.

Nexus Mods will adopt a k-ID verification system consistent with Discord, providing users with two authentication methods: one is to upload official documents such as passports or driver's licenses to verify age; the other is to conduct approximate age assessment through the website's facial scanning function. Nexus Mods said that if users have completed k-ID verification through other cooperative platforms, their authentication status may be automatically synchronized.

At the specific execution level, all mods or resource collections marked with "adult" content will be invisible to users who have not completed verification, and users under the age of 18 will not be able to use the image sharing function.

Thegamer analysis pointed out that although the bill encountered some petitions and opposition, its implementation is expected to continue, and more platforms similar to Nexus may implement age verification measures in the future.
