It's hard to buy it at the original price! Nvidia will significantly reduce production of RTX 50 series graphics cards
As NVIDIA's new generation GB300 AI chip is about to be mass-produced, in order to ensure that production capacity is not affected, it is reported that NVIDIA plans to reduce the production of RTX 50 series graphics cards, with an expected reduction of 20-30%. This means that the supply of the RTX 50 series on the market will be even more tense in the coming months.
It is reported that NVIDIA plans to invest more production capacity in the production of data center AI chips, including the new generation of GB300 chips that will be mass-produced next month, and the reduced-regulation version of AI chips that will be specially produced for the Chinese market. Due to this strategic adjustment, NVIDIA must reduce the production of RTX 50 series graphics cards. After all, AI chips contribute more critical to NVIDIA's revenue.
At present, the availability of RTX 50 series graphics cards in the global market is not ideal, especially for high-end models, which are almost impossible for consumers to purchase at the suggested retail price. Even for low-end models, consumers will have to pay a premium of at least 20% or higher, and some models are even more than 1.5 times the suggested retail price. As NVIDIA prioritizes production of AI chips, availability of the RTX 50 series will undoubtedly become even more stressful.
In fact, the supply of RTX 50 series graphics cards has tightened, and it is expected that the total shipment volume of the Chinese market will drop by 20% to 30% from May.
