The story is set in the 8th year of Yuanwa (1622). The protagonist Tokugawa Takechiyo is about to succeed the Shogun of Edo Castle. However, Takechiyo's younger brother, Tokugawa Kunimatsu, was dissatisfied with this succession arrangement. He fell into darkness and possessed powerful monster power. He led the monster army to attack Takechiyo, turning the peaceful and prosperous era into hell in an instant.
