New Nintendo patent! Switch 2 allows reverse insertion of Joy-Con handles
Recently, foreign media VGC discovered that a new Nintendo patent has been approved, which may subvert the Joy-Con handle connection method of the Switch 2 host and give the Switch 2 new functions to use inverted use.
It is reported that , the Joy-Con handle in this patent adopts a magnetically-sucked plug-in design, which can be inserted in the Switch 2 host in reverse (i.e., left and right). This innovative design allows players to use the Switch 2 host body inverted.
The patent description states: "The user can install the right controller and the left controller on the other side of the host device to use the game system. In this way, the user can flexibly adjust the component layout of the game system. ”
"For example, a user can use the gaming system in a way that upside down of the host device, at which time the voice input/output connector (such as headphone jack, etc.) on the host device will be located below. This means that the user can insert headphones, etc. from any direction, etc. Connect the device. ”
This function seems to reveal the role of Switch 2's new ports compared to the first generation NS, which is to provide players with more options to connect to devices.
