"Sword Star" PC version is launched in June. Sony has lifted regional locking to cover 132 countries.
The PC version of the action adventure masterpiece "Stellar Blade" is officially scheduled to be released in June 2025, and the area restrictions that previously plagued players have been completely resolved. According to the latest data from SteamDB, Sony lifted the purchase restrictions covering 132 countries before its release, and players in Egypt, Estonia, Albania and other regions can now access the game page freely. This adjustment marks that after the success of the PS5 version, "Sword Star" officially opened its doors to PC players around the world.
Previously, "Sword Star" caused controversy due to strict regional policies when it first released on the Steam platform, and some regions including Russia, North Korea, and Syria were unable to even view the store page. Although the game does not forcefully bind PSN accounts, regional restrictions still make it impossible for a large number of players to experience. With the assistance of the development team Shift Up, Sony finally promoted policy adjustments so that players around the world can purchase normally except a few sensitive areas.
To welcome the release of the PC version, the official has opened a free trial demo, and players can experience core combat and plot clips in advance. It is worth noting that although the PC version uses Denuvo anti-tampering technology, this move has not triggered a significant rebound in the player group compared to regional restrictions.
Since its launch on the PS5 platform in 2024, "Sword Star" has received high ratings of 9 points for IGN and 8.5 points for GameSpot with its smooth action system and in-depth narrative, and its global sales have exceeded 4 million sets. The PC version transplant is seen as a key step for Sony to expand its multi-platform strategy. The development team said: "We hope more players can experience the charm of this work without barriers. The lifting of regional locks makes this vision possible."
As the global unlocking and trial play open, the PC version of "Sword Star" has entered the final sprint stage. For fans of the series, this summer may usher in another action game feast.
