Both screens are single-hole screen designs and equipped with under-screen Face ID technology. This is the first single-hole screen mobile phone in Apple's history.

There are many voices of complaining about the pill screen on social platforms, the main reason is that it is "not beautiful", so Apple designed "Lingdong Island" to cover the original exclamation mark with a full black background. Although infrared light can pass through the display screen, its transmittance is extremely poor. If the component is forcibly placed under the panel, the face recognition process will be much slower and the safety and reliability will become worse.

　　A previously exposed patent shows that Apple deleted some screen subpixels, so that infrared light can pass through the cover plate to achieve the purpose of under-screen facial recognition.

　　If this solution is successfully commercialized, the iPhone 18 Pro series will be the most changed mobile phone in Apple's history, and the pill screen form will be withdrawn from the stage.
