Season 2 of the live-action series "The Last of Us" produced by HBO Max was officially released last Monday. This season's plot is adapted from the second part of the game "The Last of Us", which has attracted high attention from viewers and fans around the world. Everyone is looking forward to seeing how the drama group handles the controversial plot in the original work.

In the second episode of the second season, the plot presents the first climax without any delay - the scene where Joel was cruelly killed by Abby. In response, series director Mark Mylod said he has reduced the level of violence in this scene.

According to foreign media reports, director Mark Mylod said in an interview: "I have no interest in showing violence itself, but the motivation behind Abby's cruel behavior is very attractive to me. While exploring why this character is so extremely violent, I think most of the violent scenes should happen outside the picture." Therefore, he finally chose to use shooting techniques that reduce the degree of violence in the picture.

Audiences who are familiar with the second plot of "The Last of Us" know that in the game, Joel was repeatedly hit by Abby in the head and killed him. This extremely cruel scene directly led to Ellie on the road to revenge. And in the episode, when Ellie appears, the director chooses to turn the focus of the camera to Ellie's reaction, allowing Abby's atrocities to happen outside the picture.

Mark Mylod revealed that he and the producer of the series Craig Mazin believed that most violent scenes should be displayed through hint rather than direct. What impressed him the most was the close-up of Bella Ramsey, who played Ellie, when he witnessed Joel's murder. "That shot makes me unforgettable, and I hope the audience can remember this moment." As the plot develops, the audience is very much looking forward to how the series will present a revenge story between the two heroines.
