May 29 2025

Microsoft announced Wednesday that the beta version of its gaming assistant Copilot for Gaming has begun to be launched to users. Currently, Beta testers can experience this feature in the Xbox apps on iOS and Android platforms.

In this early version, Copilot was able to answer users' questions about games they are interested in, provide links to more information, and answer based on user's account information, game history, achievements and other data. For example, users can ask "What is my game score? Is there any way to improve it?" or "I like horror movies, are there any game recommendations?" In addition, users can also query specific game history or account information, such as "What is my last achievement in "Starry"?" or "When will my Game Pass subscription renew?"

When the user asks Copilot, it combines player activity data on Xbox and public information from Bing to generate an answer. Microsoft said they are working to add more personalized features and richer game assist features to Copilot for Gaming, such as proactive guidance.
