More than just games! Hideo Kojima spoke out on the tour: Paying tribute to life with peace and environmental protection!
At the London station of the world tour of "Death Stranding 2: Above the Beach", Hideo Kojima in the spotlight did not only talk about the game. When host Jeff invited him to share his thoughts, the game producer's words turned to heavier and grander propositions.
We are facing many problems at the moment," said Kojima, "We have wars, climate change, many earthquakes, we have experienced the epidemic, and there are many things. Our future may be a little dark. But today, if we can get together like this, if we are connected to each other, we can fight and fight against all these (difficulties). ”
This star-studded event (actors Norman Reidus and Leya Saidu are also present) was solemnly dedicated by Kojima to a late friend-Low Roar's lead singer Ryan Karaziya. In 2022, Karaziya passed away due to pneumonia complications. His music was the Soul Voice of the First Death Stranding, and Kojima originally planned to continue working with him in the sequel.
When I created "Death Stranding 2", I wanted to contact him (Ryan), but there was an epidemic and he could not come to Japan to perform, so I tried to write an email," Kojima explained, "but then I received this sad news - Ryan passed away. When I first heard the news, I felt very sad. I also learned from his loved ones that he did create some new songs, so I decided to put these new songs into "Death Stranding 2". ”
So I think he is watching us somewhere. There is a line in Death Stranding 2: ‘Death is not the end, it cannot separate us’. I still feel the connection with Ryan, and I will cherish this friendship with Ryan. I hope everyone can feel this too. ”
