Gameplay Overview

Tashkichu is a tile-laying game for 2-4 players where players compete to create the most valuable and symmetrical temple complex. Players take turns placing tiles onto a shared central board, creating temples, towers, and other structures. The game ends when all tiles have been placed, and the player with the highest-scoring temple complex wins.

Components

* 1 Central board

* 112 Temple tiles

* 40 Scoring tiles

* 4 Player boards

* 4 Sets of player markers

Setup

1. Shuffle the temple tiles and place them face down in a draw pile.

2. Place the central board in the center of the table.

3. Each player takes a player board and places it in front of them.

4. Each player takes a set of player markers and places them on their player board.

Gameplay

On their turn, a player may perform one of the following actions:

* Place a tile: Draw a tile from the draw pile and place it on the central board. Tiles can be placed adjacent to any other tile, but they must match the color or shape of the tile they are placed next to.

* Score a temple: If a player has completed a temple (a 3x3 square of tiles of the same color), they can score it by placing a scoring tile on top of it. The scoring tile shows the number of points the player earns for scoring the temple.

* Build a tower: If a player has placed a tile on top of another tile, they can build a tower by placing another tile on top of the first tile. Towers can be any height, but they must be stable (i.e., they cannot overhang or collapse).

* Move a player marker: A player can move one of their player markers to any unoccupied space on the central board. Player markers can be used to block other players from placing tiles or scoring temples.

Scoring

The game ends when all tiles have been placed. Players then score their temple complexes as follows:

* Temples: Each completed temple is worth the number of points shown on the scoring tile placed on top of it.

* Towers: Each tower is worth 1 point for each tile in the tower.

* Symmetry: Players earn bonus points for creating symmetrical temple complexes. A symmetrical temple complex is one in which the tiles are arranged in a mirror image or rotational pattern.

The player with the highest-scoring temple complex wins the game.

Tips

* Plan ahead: Think about where you want to place your tiles before you draw them. This will help you create the most valuable and symmetrical temple complex.

* Block your opponents: Use your player markers to block your opponents from placing tiles or scoring temples.

* Score early and often: Don't wait until the end of the game to score your temples. Scoring early will give you a head start on your opponents.

* Create symmetry: Symmetry is worth bonus points, so try to create symmetrical temple complexes whenever possible.
