my country's magnetic levitation technology has made a new breakthrough: accelerated by less than 1 second, 650 kilometers/h
According to CCTV.com, recently, the "one-kilometer high-speed magnetic levitation test line" independently developed by Hubei Donghu Laboratory conducted its first public demonstration. The test vehicle weighing 1,030 kilograms successfully reached the "extreme speed" of 650 kilometers per hour under the driving force of electromagnetic force, breaking the global record of similar platforms! The test car's acceleration time was less than 1 second, and it accelerated from stationary to 650 kilometers per hour in just 7.1 seconds, with a maximum acceleration of more than 8 G.
Behind this amazing achievement is the newly built 1,000-meter high-speed magnetic levitation test line. Li Weichao, director of the High-speed Magnetic Suspension Electromagnetic Propulsion Technology Innovation Center of Donghu Laboratory, said that traditional high-speed speed tests usually require longer tracks, and it takes 30 to 40 kilometers to start. This test adopts a short-distance boost method, which requires extremely high speed measurement and positioning accuracy, up to 4 mm.
With powerful electromagnetic boost and precise speed measurement and positioning technology, the test vehicle not only realizes "flying on the ground", but also quickly reduces the speed to zero within 200 meters.
The typical working condition of this test line is 800 kilometers per hour, and all construction tasks are expected to be completed by the end of 2025. After completion, this will become an open, cooperative and shared test platform, which can conduct various tests such as dynamic mold tests, speed calibration tests and overload resistance tests in atmospheric environments.
