Support cross-platform! "Skate" will open the first-hand experience on September 16th.
Electronics officially announced that "Skate" will be available on all platforms on September 16 to start early experience. This free play sequel released in 2020 will restart the classic skateboarding game series that has been silent for more than 15 years, and will be developed by EA's new studio, Full Circle.
Although the game has not been publicly launched, players have seen its content and appearance through trailers, leaked information and pre-alpha real-time pictures shared by testers. As the release date approaches, more details about the game content mode, customization options and more than 100 first tracks are being gradually disclosed. Now that the waiting is about to end - EA has finally confirmed the experience time of this highly anticipated game.
Electronics and Full Circle previously hinted that the game will be released in the summer of 2025, but the specific date has not been specified. The latest official trailer confirmed that "Speed Skateboard" will be available on the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5 platforms in the form of early access on September 16, and will be available on the PC through Steam, Epic game store and EA app.
The first release version will adopt a free play mode, support the full-platform cross-platform online function, allowing players to play with friends from different devices. In addition, the game will also achieve cross-platform progress synchronization and support multi-platform account data interoperability. "Skateboard" will adopt a seasonal content update model, and will regularly launch new content, limited-time events and exclusive decorative props every three months, continuing the common operation strategies of service-oriented games.
This work, described as a "continuously evolved online skateboarding sandbox", is set in the city of St. Van Amsterdam - a giant multiplayer open world for skateboarding enthusiasts. The game physics system is powered by the Frost Engine, and the classic "Flick-it" control system confirms the return. In addition to traditional skills, this game has added new special stunts such as wall sliding, pole sliding and firecracker jumping, which continues the classic gameplay cycle while providing new challenges to old players.
The series' loyal fans, which have been waiting for 15 years, have created unprecedented high expectations for the game - the performance of more than one million registered closed tests broke the internal records of EA, fully demonstrating the urgent expectation of the fans of the series for the orthodox sequel. Now Electronic Arts only needs to perfectly realize this return work.
