Nintendo confirms that Switch2 won't build a achievement system or store music
Nintendo confirmed that Switch2 will not have a built-in accomplishment system.
Foreign media Polygon received a "no" affirmative answer when interviewing Nintendo's player and vice president of product experience.
Although the host does not have a complete achievement system, the game itself can still be built into the game or incorporated into the application. For example, the upcoming Switch2 versions of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" will add a new app "Zelda Notes" to the Nintendo APP, which will have a list of achievements.
Achievements include the weapons collected by the player, the number of temples completed, and other in-game indicators. Medals will also be awarded when completing certain milestones in the game, and players can track the achievements of their friends and other players through this app.
In addition, Nintendo has confirmed that the new Eshop will not have background music. Nintendo stores had this feature back in the 2000s, but since the Switch was launched, many players have wanted to restore it.
Polygon interviewed Switch2 producer Hiroichi Kawamoto when he said that the main reason is that there are many game videos in Eshop now, so he does not want to disturb players and does not play music. However, Kawamoto also mentioned that the music from the Wii store often echoed in his mind.
Many players believe that Switch's Eshop is slow and has insufficient functions. Nintendo has confirmed that Switch2 will be committed to improving Eshop's smooth browsing, reading and shopping experience.
