The cost is as low as 0.6 yuan per yuan! Some low-priced durian mooncakes are actually seasoned pastries

　　As Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, a low-priced durian mooncake sales craze has been launched on the live broadcast room of e-commerce platforms. In the live broadcast room, the anchor enthusiastically promoted durian ice-skin mooncakes priced at 29.9 yuan, buy one box and get one box, claiming to use real durian pulp. However, the products received by consumers are very different from publicity, with dry fillings and a taste full of additives.

　　Compared with the high-priced mooncakes that cost 198 yuan per box offline, the price of durian ice-skin mooncakes recommended in some live broadcast rooms is as low as "buy one box for 29.9 yuan", which is equivalent to less than 3 yuan per unit price per box. On the wholesale platform, the price of this type of mooncake is even as low as 0.6 yuan. According to a survey by the Beijing News reporter, many low-priced products did not add the claimed "durian meat", but used compound seasonings such as "durian-flavored food fillings" or "durian-flavored pasta sauce", and the actual proportion of durian ingredients is less than 3%.

In some live broadcast rooms, the anchor claimed that the mooncake was "real added durian meat paste, with a content of up to 24%. However, the actual product ingredients list shows that the "durian flavored pasta sauce" compound seasoning is added. The durian mud content in the whole mooncake is only ≥2.4%, and it also contains a variety of food additives such as hydroxypropyl di-starch phosphate and carrageenan. This is in sharp contrast to the anchor's promotion of "no technology and ruthlessness".

The product evaluation area is filled with consumer dissatisfaction. Among the cumulative evaluations of durian ice-skin mooncakes, 324 were negative. Some buyers left a message to criticize: "There are a lot of stuffing in the video, but the actual product is thick and the filling is small but not delicious. After eating, the mouth is sweet and bitter." Faced with the question, the merchant's customer service responded negatively, and some even asked the consumers whether they had checked the order.

　　According to the GB/T 19855 "General Rules for Mooncake Quality", the amount of fruit added or the amount of fruit products added in the filling is not less than 25%, so it can be called "×× fruit mooncake". The above-mentioned low-priced mooncakes are actually mostly "durian-flavored ice-skin mooncakes" rather than "durian-skin mooncakes".

Industry insiders revealed that the quality of durian pulp is the key factor that determines cost. The "Maoshan King" seedless durian can be sold at more than 300 yuan/kg, while the price of scraps such as minced durian meat is as low as 60 yuan/kg. When purchasing, consumers should pay attention to products that are only nominally "durian flavor" and have a durian content of less than 3% are essentially just seasoned pastries that contain durian flavor.
